Seek medical assessment and ask for a Work Capacity Certificate. Make sure it lists all the work-related injuries or conditions you want assessed, including psychological injuries where applicable.
Official guide: Work Capacity Certificate
Submit your workers’ compensation application with the required medical certificate and details about your injury, employment and how the condition developed. Most claims are managed by WorkCover Queensland, but some employers are self-insured.

The insurer reviews the information, medical evidence and relevant employment circumstances. It may request further information from you, your doctor or your employer. Most decisions are made within 20 business days, although some claims take longer.
If your claim is accepted, eligible treatment, rehabilitation and wage compensation may be available. For eligible mental injury claims, some early psychological treatment may also be funded while the claim is being assessed.
Depending on your medical capacity, recovery may involve modified duties, reduced hours, rehabilitation or a gradual return to work in consultation with relevant treating professionals.
Read the insurer’s written decision and the reasons provided. You may be able to request a review by the Workers’ Compensation Regulatory Service. Review time limits apply, so seek advice promptly.
